Winter Solitude: A Soulful Solo Journey on the Camino de Santiago

One of, if not, THE most life-changing adventure I've had so far was hiking along the ancient pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago, from the borders of France to the spiritual destination of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.

Journeying alone in the quiet solitude of winter, I traversed rugged landscapes, picturesque villages, and historic sites, immersing myself in the timeless beauty and profound spirituality of the trail. As I walked through snow-covered paths and frosty forests, I found a deep sense of introspection and connection with nature, allowing for moments of self-discovery and inner peace.

Doing this on winter time was scary (it was 0 degrees) yet I was able to embrace the challenges and rewards of the pilgrimage, drawing strength from the simplicity of each step taken. I encountered the warmth of local hospitality, forged meaningful connections with fellow travelers, and basked in the serenity of the winter landscape.
